Meet the team

Pauline Phillips




My name is Pauline Phillips, I am married to John and we have three grown up children Thomas, Gemma and Eleanor; not forgetting our cat Sassy!

I have been involved in childcare for many years and now work in partnership with Kate Bolton and Jane Sanders at the Pre-School in Inskip.

I hold N.N.E.B. qualification and combine my management role with other responsibilities such as Nominated Person, Parental Involvement Co-ordinator (PICo) Child Protection /Safeguarding officer, Education of Children who are Looked After (E.C.L.A.) and First Aid plus numerous other relevant qualifications gained over many years. I am also key person for a number of children.

As a partnership we are committed to progressing and developing as a team and a business by working towards a Lancashire Quality Award over the next few months.

We will continue to work together in partnership with parents to make our Pre -School a caring, fun, and happy environment for children to learn and develop to their full potential.

Jane Sanders


My name is Jane Sanders, I am married to Nigel and we have four grown up children and two cats Sam and Max.

I am a partner and Deputy Manager. I hold an NVQ3 in Early Years Childcare and Education. I am also the Special Education Needs Co-ordinator, Equality Named Co-ordinator (ENCO), Deputy PICO, Child protection/Safeguarding officer, E.C.L.A. I have numerous other relevant qualifications gained over many years.

I have been in childcare for over twenty years. I was a volunteer at Queen’s Drive Primary School, assisted at Beavers, Guides, Sunday school and I worked at another setting in Cottam for over 11 years.

I love working at Inskip Pre-school, being a key worker, having lots of fun with the children and working closely with our parents. We are proud of our achievements and are committed to continually improving and updating our setting.

Kate Bolton My name is Kate Bolton. I am married to Bob and we have three grown up children Greg, Lucy and Sophie, and a Wired Haired Fox Terrier called Tilly.

I have worked in childcare since 1990. In that time I’ve looked after over 250 children! I worked in one setting for 18 years where I was Deputy Manager, the last 8 of which I was also Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator.

I am a Partner, Deputy Manager, Administrator, I hold an N.V.Q 3 in Early Years Childcare and Education, and I have also gained many other qualifications relating to child care and administration.

I have worked with Jane, Pauline and Sue for many years and we have built a good relationship with each other.

Susan Scott I am Susan Scott. I trained as a nurse in Chorley and Preston hospitals, where I met and married Martin, from Woodplumpton.

I nursed for 25 years whilst raising my family of 3 daughters, Rachel, Rebecca and Ruth. I first became involves in childcare through voluntary PTA and NTA work at primary school. After completing further training I worked as a nursery nurse in K1, K2 stages and after school care.

I gained, B.Tech in Childcare, State Enrolled Nurse qualification, Deputy E.N.C.o, First Aid plus many other relevant qualifications gained over the last few years. I’m enjoying working at Inskip Pre-School.




Sarah Slater My name is Sarah Slater, I have three children and a mad black Labrador called Ellie.

During the 22 years bringing up my children, I also managed to find time to train as a Nursery Nurse and gained BTEC National Certificate in 1997. I spent 6 years working at Moorfield School in Preston and also worked as a teaching assistant at Ingol Community School.

My spare time is taken up with reading, walking the dog and helping with the children’s work at our church. I am very excited to be working at Inskip in this lovely environment and caring atmosphere.




Kath McBride My name is Kath McBride and I have over 15 years childcare experience working with all age groups within my career. I hold my BTEC National Certificate in Childhood Education and the CACHE Certificate in Special Educational Needs. During my career I have been fortunate to gain a wealth of experience working within several day nurseries and Pre-School settings both in Preston and Northern Ireland.

I am a very happy person who finds working with children very rewarding. I also enjoy spending time with my husband, our three daughters and our ever increasing family of pets.






Jean Stokes My name is Jean Stokes. I am married to Jim and have two daughters Abby and Ellie. We also share our home with two cats Roxy and Mac and our latest addition is Olly our gorgeous puppy. In any free time I love walking Olly and with two teenage daughters shopping is a firm favourite.

Prior to working at Inskip Pres-School, I was the Deputy Manager at a setting in Fulwood for 10 years. Previously I worked in HR and when we lived in Reading I worked 12 years for BT as Customer Services Manager. I have a BA (Hons) and a preschool Diploma. I am really excited to be part of the Inskip team; our pre-school is a very positive, happy environment to work in.
